This Excel template is meant to be used and updated every quarter or once a year to understand better your company’s marketability to sell for an optimal valuation. I’ve made all the input cells light yellow with blue text so you know exactly what things should be edited vs. what is a formula. For all the sub-categories I’ve broken the calculations down into their most basic components, so data entry is as smooth as possible. Much of the input includes data you can pull from financial statements or general system reports.

There are a few main sections that are more qualitative, and a selection is available for the statement that best fits the state of your organization. These don’t have a direct relation to a quantitative value per se, but they can be justified with backup notes that reasonably suggest the statement is true.

The entire summary tab is already formatted and printable for 8.5 x 11. There is dummy data in the base template to help make it easier to see an example. I’ve integrated conditional formatting for each grade (red = bad, yellow = average, green = excellent).

Note that the user can adjust the weights for all relevant end points and the scale for what determines a given point value (1-10) for a piece of data. I have put in figures for the grading scale that I feel are reasonable, but they can be adjusted as needed.
