This MS Excel sheet makes it easy for small businesses to keep track of how much inventory they have left on a given day. Simply enter starting balances for up to 40 SKUs (easily expandable if needed) and then enter the units that arrive for each SKU per day as well as the units that are sold/used per day for each SKU. A final daily sheet will populate the current balance of inventory units and the value therein over a 365-day period.

To move to the next year, just take the ending balances and pull them into a new workbook labeled for the new year and then start entering the daily activity. This is going to function into perpetuity and you will have an inventory workbook for each fiscal year.

It will ideally work for small businesses that don’t have too many SKUs (default to 40), but it can be modified without much effort to work for many more. The formulas and logic are pretty light so expanding it doesn’t take much more added resources.

Some cool added features included conditional formatting so that a cell will highlight if the inventory balance gets below a defined level.

Also, the current day will automatically highlight in bold text and be underlined.
