This bundle packages three complementary tools into a single purchase designed for professionals who need to take a standalone battery storage deal from first screening to investment committee presentation.
What is included
The BESS Ultimate Model is a production-ready Excel financial model for standalone utility-scale BESS projects. It covers 8 countries — Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, USA, France, Australia, Nordic — each with Conservative, Base and Aggressive scenarios calibrated from April 2026 sources including Modo Energy Q1 2026, BESS Index April 2026, Capstone DC November 2025, enspired February 2026 and Rystad December 2025.
The model runs a 20-year DCF with a four-stream revenue engine covering Arbitrage, Ancillary/MSD, Capacity and Other revenues. Country-specific market activation is built in — the Capacity market is active for Italy, Spain, UK, USA and Australia but correctly disabled for Germany, France and Nordic where it does not exist. Revenue allocation across active streams is fully user-configurable and the model validates that allocations sum to 100% before running. The financing module covers debt sizing, interest rate and tenor by country, with default tenors of 12 years for European markets and 10 years for USA and Australia. A locked MARKET_REFERENCE copy preserves the original benchmarks so any customisation in MARKET_INPUTS can always be compared against the calibrated baseline.
Key outputs from a single control panel: Project IRR, Equity IRR, NPV, Payback, annual EBITDA, DSCR, LLCR, full debt schedule and revenue waterfall. A tornado sensitivity chart covers nine key variables at ±20%, and two data tables give IRR and Equity IRR across CAPEX vs Arbitrage Price and CAPEX vs Debt % respectively.
The Portfolio Manager aggregates the BESS project outputs alongside any other technology in the pipeline into a consolidated view across up to 50 active projects. Project IRR, Equity IRR, NPV, Revenue, OPEX and Debt ratio from the BESS model transfer directly into a single row. CapEx-weighted portfolio IRR, total NPV, DSCR traffic light and technology breakdown update immediately.
The Multilingual User Guide covers the complete workflow in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German — market benchmarks by country, step-by-step operation, interpretation of all KPIs, DSCR traffic light logic and technical notes on revenue haircut, battery degradation and debt tenor assumptions.
Model architecture
Sheets: CONTROL_PANEL · MARKET_INPUTS · MARKET_REFERENCE · MARKET_CONFIGURATION · ASSUMPTION_ENGINE · REVENUE_ENGINE · FINANCIAL_MODEL · DASHBOARD · SENSITIVITY. Colour coding: Blue = manual input · Green = cross-sheet link · Black = internal formula.
Key assumptions (Base scenario)
CAPEX: €128k–€165k/MWh by country. Ancillary revenues: €62k–€128k/MW/year. Battery degradation: 1.5%/year (NREL 2023). Revenue haircut: 5% flat. OPEX inflation: 2.5%/year. Revenue escalation: 1.0%/year. Debt tenor: 12 years EU / 10 years USA-Australia.
Who this is for
Developers and sponsors evaluating standalone BESS projects at early-stage feasibility. Financial advisors preparing investment memoranda or lender presentations for storage deals. Infrastructure investors screening battery storage assets across multiple markets. Anyone managing a mixed renewable pipeline who needs both a rigorous project-level BESS model and a consolidated portfolio view in a single purchase.
