If you are a small business and currently track your sales by pen and paper, this is the model for you. This template provides a sales log for your business while tracking and organizing sales accounts on a monthly basis as well as year to date. This will create a way to analyze your revenue without having to pay for a software program. The model includes a Sales Detail section, a Top Sales Accounts section and an Accounts Register to log all your transactions.
• In the Accounts Register section, each transaction is entered with the account name, month, transaction date and sales amount. The Account Name and Category can be selected from a drop down menu; these inputs can be edited in the Drop Down Menu tab. The information can be filtered using the drop-down arrows next to each title.
• From there, the information is transferred to the Sales Detail where the model will total the sales for each account in any given month as well as a Year to Date figure. Click on A2 on the worksheet and using the drop-down arrow, select which month you would like to analyze.
• For a deeper analysis, a table of the top 10 sales accounts is available in the Top Sales Accounts section. This will automatically rank the top 10 accounts for the business based on total revenue per month and year to date revenue. The charts provide a visual of the distribution of the Top 10 Accounts individually and how their revenue compares to the overall total revenue. The monthly ranking is tied to the selected month on the Sales Detail section.
All cells in black font are input cells where custom information can be entered. All cells in blue font are formulas set to streamline the model.
