Description
The Comprehensive financial model for a 6,000-barrel-per-day refinery is an interactive, flexible, updated, and understandable model. The model is structured into Inputs, CAPEX, Debt & Equity Schedule, Working capital, Calculations, Monthly Financial Statement and Yearly Financial Statement Tabs. The model also has an interactive dashboard allowing users to see the key items for presentation purposes visually. On the dashboard, users can understand the model drivers. They also see the key output of the model in the form of charts, ratios, and return analysis

Given the capital-intensive nature of the crude oil refining business, the model has been logically built with the key assumption of funding from debt raise and equity to form the funding source for the project to be constructed and subsequently expanded. The model also assumes an initial refining capacity of 4,000bpd with an additional expansion of refining capacity by 2,000bpd in the second year of operation. Hence, bringing the total capacity to 6,000bpd. The model is flexible for users to work around other capacities as it relates to their real-life business

The model has a dedicated monthly financial statement ( Income statement, cash flow statement, and Balance sheet) tab that shows the business’s financial performance monthly over the model’s lifetime. In addition to this, the model also summarizes the financial statement outputs in a yearly format.

Lastly, we have incorporated a scenario analysis in the model showing the best-to-worst-case scenarios. The scenario analysis is driven by our sensitivities to various inputs, such as crude oil prices, prices of refined/white products, and capacity utilization.
