Carriers refund lost and damaged parcels only if you file the claim correctly and within the deadlines, and then follow it up. Carrier Claims Manager Pro is the file that makes sure no claim is forgotten and shows you, carrier by carrier, how much you claimed and how much you got back.
What is inside (5 sheets): Carrier Claims log (one row per case: carrier, tracking, case type, claim status, date opened, deadline, amount claimed, amount refunded, closing date; days open and difference calculated automatically, alerts on cases near the deadline) · Dashboard (open cases, amounts at stake, recovery rate, average days to settle, breakdown by carrier and by case type, 3 charts) · Settings (carriers, case types, deadline days) · KPI Dictionary · Home.
Who it is for: any online store shipping more than a few hundred parcels a month, logistics managers, fulfilment partners. It pays for itself with the first recovered parcel.
How to use it: open a row when you file a claim, update it when the carrier replies. Described in chapter 10 of the guide Level Up Your E-commerce, together with the rules for filing a claim without losing the right to a refund.
How to work with the template, step by step
Carrier Claims Manager Pro keeps every claim, credit-note request and refund open with your carriers in one place, so no amount owed is forgotten.
- Check the drop-down lists in Settings. Carriers, case types and statuses are listed in the Settings sheet: add your own carriers and remove the ones you do not use.
- Enter one row per case. In Carrier Claims add every case opened with a carrier: order, carrier, case type, opening date, amount claimed. Always fill in Carrier, Case Type and Claim Status: the Dashboard and the alerts depend on them.
- Close the case when the carrier settles. Update Claim Closing Date and Amount Refunded: Days Open and the difference between claimed and refunded are calculated automatically.
- Read the Dashboard. Open cases, amounts at stake, recovery rate and breakdown by carrier: the numbers you need when you renegotiate the contract.
The file links to Orders Manager Pro through the Carrier column of the order log and to Returns Manager Pro for returns caused by transport damage. This edition comes without sheet protection: edit the input cells and leave the formula cells as they are.
