Karaoke Lounge Financial Model

The idea of this Karaoke Lounge Financial Model is, that you offer 3 separate Karaoke rooms for little private groups, that can be rented, a bar/restaurant area to provide food and beverages, and merch products. Karaoke is very popular with families and people of all ages. This activity provides intensive group experience with a greater willingness to spend money on food, drinks, and merch products like t-shirts or glasses.

Tab Assumptions

You start with creating your base case, which is used to calculate sales in the tab “Income M1-12”.

All yellow cells are for your inputs. The other cells are protected, but you can disable it to edit all formulas.

Karaoke Rooms

Period: From Monday to Thursday you can consider two different prices for two different periods. I.e. 12-5pm 30$/h, 5-10pm 50$/h. This input is only for your info, but is not used for calculation.

Max. hours / day: Enter the number of hours, which result from your previous defined period. I.e. 5 for the period 12-5pm. This assumption influences sales.

Rate $/h: Enter the rental rate per hour you charge for a room.

Room #1: You can enter a name for each room.

Occupancy in %: The usage of available capacity in percent. I.e. 20%.

Customers: This shows you the number of customers, based on room capacity.

Room Sales: This shows you sales for a certain period of a day.

Room Capacity: Enter the number of customers, that can use a room. I.e. 10.

Av. Length of stay in h: The average time your customers spend in a Karaoke room. I.e. 2h

Merch
You can enter the item names, your sales prices, conversion rates and COGS (cost of goods sold) in % of sales. Conversion rate describes how many of your customers will buy a certain merch product. As a result, you get the number of sold pieces (pcs) and sales per week and month.

Food & Beverages

F&B Sales per customer: the average amount of money a customer spends for food and beverages.

F&B COGS in %: The average cost of goods sold for your F&B sales.

Bar customers / week: Additional to your Karaoke customers, which usually consume in their private lounge, you can consider bar/restaurant customers, that only consume F&B, but don´t rent a Karaoke lounge. I.e. 350 bar customers per week.

Equipment

Enter the items you need to invest in, to start your Karaoke business, the prices and the useful life in years, which is needed to calculate depreciation.

Expenses

Shop rent / month: The cost for renting your shop per month.

Enter percentages of sales to consider the most important expenses for utilities, fees and insurances, operating cost, administration, marketing, maintenance, leasing, debit & CC fees.

Financing

Financing: Describe the funding of your business. Cash is your equity and loan is debt.

Interest rate: the annual interest rate for your loan in precent.

Tax rate: the income tax rate in your country in percent.

Tab Personnel:

Define employee positions, salary per year and number of employees per position for each month.

% of Base Case: You can plan development of sales from zero to the full base case, you planned by entering assumptions. I.e. 20% in M1, 30% in M2 etc.

Growth Rates: You can define growth rates for sales, COGS, and expenses for the years 2 to 5.
