We basically offer two versions of templates – Paid and Free versions. The Paid version is guaranteed to let you edit and customize it according to your needs. While the Free version is usually just a demo/collection of screenshots which could be in a PDF file or password-protected Excel file format. In this case, it is obvious that to be able to edit and customize a model template, you need to purchase the Paid version (version with a +price).

However, this doesn’t mean we don’t offer free templates. We do have FREE complete model templates or Excel spreadsheet tools that can be edited and customized available for download. You can check them out here: Free Financial Model Templates.

Now, to talk about what you can change within the model templates. In some models, it is possible to change the units of the metrics, depending on the financial model template. It is not always the case that the model is designed to change such units but we do encourage our financial modelers to create templates which are a lot more user-friendly so that it would be possible to change metrics easily and automatically.

The next most asked question would be if it is possible to change the currency. In most cases, especially the new templates added, YES – it is possible to change the currency. As for the moment, basically, all models have an option to change the currency. Though mostly we set it as USD as default since it is the most used and understandable currency that most users prefer. However, in case you downloaded a template with no currency switch, it is still possible to change it manually since you are using Excel, everything is transparent and editable.

We can guarantee you that the models by us, eFinancialModels, have a switch where a three-digit currency code can be entered (default is USD). Simply enter the shortcode of your desired currency and the model will present your new currency code to all financials instead of United States Dollar (USD). Maybe in the future, we might add new financial models where the currency code cannot be changed but that’s for later on.
